The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Setting up Linksys WPSM54G on MacOS Leopard

Asked by kentthagard in Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard), Printers, Wireless Networking

Tags: , , ,

I just switched from a Dell to a MacBookPro and am trying to set up the Linksys Wireless Print Server WPSM54G that I already have on my new Mac.  Linksys does not provide support on a Mac nor does the instillation disk work on a Mac but they do say it can configure to the MacOS Leopard.  I have read the other post on this site concerning this matter and it is too vague.  I have also read other posts on the internet and they have not worked.  I have tried setting the protocol using both "line printer daemon (lpd)" and "internet printing protocol (ipp)".  I configured my print server as a static ip at 192.168.1.100.  I did go back on my Dell and look at the driver properties when it was connected and it used a USB port (virtual printer).  I am trying to set up a Canon Pixma MX310 all in one printer.  I might also add that Mac's factory installed drivers do not include a driver for this printer so i have been using the "Generic Post Script Printer".  Any help would be greatful as I do not want to have to spend more money to buy another wireless print server.  Thanks in advance!Start Free Trial
