Automatically assigning host names based on workgroup manager computer lists and ethernet addresses

In working with the latest build of Apple's server OS (Leopard 10.5.4), I have noticed that the ability to automatically assign a host name to a machine based on its MAC Address and host name listed in Workgroup Manager has been removed for clients below Leopard 10.5.
