Printing to Sharp AR-337 on OS X.3 using LPR

I have a Sharp AR-337 copier that I have on my network via a wireless bridge (Linksys WRT54G w/ DD-WRT).   It has a static IP which is set properly and is working perfectly with our Windows XP computers via the IP address and set to LPR with a Queue Name of "port1" and LPR byte counting enabled.

The problem arrises when I tried to set up the copier on our Apple G5's running OS X.3.  I have added the printer with "LPD/LPR" selected, the IP properly entered, and the Queue Name set to "port1".  I have also ensured that the most recent Sharp PPD loaded for the model copier.  When I send a print job of any size and file type, the software indicates that it is sending the job and the copier's data light flashes, indicating that it is receiving data, but then nothing comes out of the copier.  I have read that there is a possibility that the copier is not recognizing the data stream and have tried to work around this by entering "binps" as the Queue Name, but then noted that it was unable to establish connection to the copier (it was trying to connect on port 638). I would greatly appreciate any insight into this matter. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
