Sharing files between Mac G4 and a HP running Windows XP

I currently use a Mac G4 with Tiger 10.4.9. The mac is on a home network powered by an airport extreme base station. I am attempting to put a HP running windows XP onto the network to store my files on. I only want the HP to act as storage; therefore, once I have the computer set up and it communicating with my mac, i intend on removing the peripherals and putting it into a closet. Currently, I have it hooked up to the ethernet connection on the back of the aiport base station. The mac is on the network using a wireless card. The mac can see the HP on the network and the file on the HP that I named Network Storage. It can open the folders in that file and open documents and pictures saved in the folders. However, when I attempt to move a jpg file from my mac to the shared folder on the HP, it says I have insufficient privileges and will not allow me to do it. In addition, when i look for the mac on the  HP I cannot see it. Because my photos are currently using about a third of the mac's memory, I would like to be able to move the photos of the mac onto the HP via the network. Please help me to do so.
