MP3 device recognized by Vista, but not as a portable device

I have an RCA Pearl that when I connect it to my Windows Vista laptop it is recognized and installed as a removable drive, but not as a Portable Device that Windows Media Player or Yahoo Music can sync with.  I have a Creative mp3 player that is identified fine and works fine with that laptop.  And the RCA device can be connected to another Vista machine and is properly identified as a portable device.

I've searched high and low and can't find anything referencing this problem or anything similar that gives a possible solution.Start Free Trial
