We have started project which is an Analysis phase. The Project is to capture TV audio/video information online using capture card and store in database. The requiernment is record TV channels which are about 500 channels. I need to give project team the hardware requiernment for the project. Bellow are some of the project requierments.
1. The server should support OS like Microsoft or Linux (Red Hat).
2. There are more number of PCI slots to install Audio/Video card (Capture card)
3. The database they are planing to Use MYSQL or oracle.
4. They are going n number of servers to record the channels depend upon how many channels one capture card takes and How many capture card we can install in one server.
5. They need storadge for storing data about 1000 TB (6 months data) and raid configurations are requierd . (SAN is requierd).
I need following server information for above requierment.
1. What server configuration like processor/CPU/Memory requierd to capture online TV recording which should be compatible with Microsoft , Linux and Database complatibility.
( Assuming one server handles 2 channels, 1 channel for each card).
2. Which storage is good for above project and what architecture we should use (NAS/SAN).
