Setting up symbolic link from web directory to SVN directory

I'm trying to set up an application on my web server using SVN. The instructions say to set up a symbolic link which I think I know how to do now, but my problem is with the permissions. The software is in ~/svn/civicrm. The web directory is home/username/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm.

The link is created, but the webserver doesn't see it there. I even tried changing my ssh permssions to allow root logon and create the link with the main userid for that website. I seem to be stick and don't know what to do next.Start Free Trial
