Here is the scenerio.
I have a domain setup at work, which has SBS Server 2003
I have 2 computers on a workgroup, in the same IP range of the domain. I need to create a Remote Desktop connection using other methods then logmein to the computers on the workgroup
The computer is on a workgroup due to the bosses paranoia. He is old school and doesnt understand that I can setup stricter policys if he were joined to the network. But thats neither here nor there.
What I have tried:
Setting up an optional network through our firebox firewall. Wasnt able to get it to work
Changed the listening port of the machines so that I can remote in. e.g. 192.168.1.14:1111
I have enabled Remote Desktop on the computers.
Opened the ports on the firewall.
Changed the listeninig ports on the client machines. Still nothing
Where I'm at:
I can ping the client computers but even then I try to setup the remote desktop from within the domain I am not able to access the computers. Is this possible or is there another way to accomplish this?
