When I try to access gmail on my new computer (XP pro). it is giving me this error message:
Unable to connect to Gmail. Possible firewall configuration issue.
Please check that port 995 is not blocked by your firewall or contact your system administrator for help. Google Desktop will try to connect to Gmail every 10 minutes until this problem is fixed or Gmail search is disabled.
I was trying to get a small alert icon on my bottom toolbar similar to what I had on my other computer which would tell me when I had new gmail and also allow quick access to gmail. I am unable to access gmail at all on this computer. Any help would be appreciated!
