Cannot open the wmpfirefox.exe file: plugin for media player for safari

Hi

I have a an imac with the latest version of OS X.

I have downloaded the following file wmpfirefox.exe from (http://www.apple.com/safari/download/plugins.html) but I cannot open it. It is a plugin for use with safari and media player, although oddly its marked firefox.

I am trying to listen to an online radio station and I am told that I need media player, which I have downloaded but I still cant listen to the station. It would seem I need the plugin to get the embedded player working. I have also tried flip4mac and this has not helped either.

I have downloaded the file wmpfirefox.exe from the link above, but when I try to open it opens in like a text editor and is just junk.

How can I install this file?
