I would like to buy a website template, but the ones I look all require being able to edit PSD files.
Adobe Photoshop itself is way over my budget, all I want to be able to do is edit PSD files - particularly the text layers.
Is there anything around that is cheap that can do this?
I see something on eBay called "Web Designer Studio - Photoshop, Dreamweaver Compatible" that is very cheap, and which it claims is as good a Photoshop, here is the description:
Gimpshop
Adobe Photoshop Alternative
GIMPshop is a modification of the open source GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP), and to get the feel of Adobe Photoshop. Its primary purpose is to make Photoshop users feel comfortable using GIMP.
It shares all GIMP's features, including the long feature list and customisability, while addressing some common criticisms regarding the program's interface: GIMPshop modifies the menu structure to closely match Photoshop's, adjusts the program's terminology to match Adobe's, and, in the Windows version, uses a plugin called 'Deweirdifier' to combine the application's numerous windows in a similar manner to the MDI system used by most Windows graphics packages. While GIMPshop doesn't support Photoshop plugins, all GIMP's own plugins, filters, brushes, etc. remain available.
Due to the changes to the interface, many Photoshop tutorials can be followed in GIMPshop unchanged, and most others can be adapted for GIMPshop users with minimal effort.

Can anyone tell me if this would be any good or if there is a working cheaper alternative to Photoshop?
Also would it be possible to buy an earlier version of Photoshop to edit PSD files?
