variable syntax in Flash MX

hello friends
 
i need some clarification in variable syntax in Flash MX
 
please chek the following , i have  a variable on Main Time Line variable name: "clicked".
 
case 1:   if("/:clicked ==1"){
            _root.mymoive.start(0,2);
            }
 
case 2: if(_root.clicked ==1){
            _root.mymoive.start(0,2);
            }
 
In case 1 and case 2 i referred to the same variable .
But case 1 didnot worked and case2 worked , i want to know why case 1 failed , am i wrong ?
 
please can anyone kindly provide me the explanation
