Why is the flash on this page causing the whole site to flicker on load in firefox?

The media page on my site has multiple swf objects.  The transition from other pages to the media page works seamlessly in IE, but in Firefox the entire browser window flashes before the page loads.  Sometimes it flashes blue (the background color of the host server's default error page), sometimes it flashes white, and sometimes it flashes the background color of the page.  I've been trying to figure out the issue for hours, and I haven't gotten anywhere.

For the sake of troubleshooting, I've removed all the other javascript and stripped the page down to a single play button.  The code for the flash is basically straight out of dreamweaver with a slight modification to the AS so I can pass a song_url as part of the src in the javascript.  Even when I try using only embed or object tags, the screen still flickers on refresh or coming from a different page.

If you go to any other page on the site and then click on the media link, you'll see the problem.  Again, the flicker is only in Firefox.  It works fine in IE.
