I have a client who had copied and pasted an e-mail signature that was used in their prior position at a different company into the signatures feature of Outlook 2007. It was copied and pasted to preserve text formatting and because it was somewhat lengthy (a confidentiality disclaimer was attached). Unfortunately, it preserved the hyperlink to the OLD e-mail address even though we corrected the actual address visually. Now, a few months later, it has come to our attention because a couple of people have contacted us telling us they sent an e-mail and got either a bounce or an automated response from the OLD e-mail address.
I'm looking for some method of determining what e-mails were directed to the old company that we don't know about right now. I'm also looking for suggestions of the best method to ensure all contacts are advised to verify they have the correct e-mail address.
I have my own opinions and ideas, but I want to avoid influencing your suggestions... so even if you think it's obvious and I'd know it, please suggest away.
Mail server is Exchange (SBS 2003) and, as mentioned, Outlook 2007 Clients.
Thanks.
