Example: I upload a file into a folder. After refreshing, the file itself on the remote server will show the new modification date/time stamp but the folder it was uploaded into does not -- but sometimes it does -- rarely.
What gives? I have tried 2 or 3 FTP clients for Mac OS X (10.4.11) and cannot get updated / refreshed modified current modification dates no matter what I do; it often doesn't refresh the folder date for months; sometimes NEVER!
So I have to believe it's the host/server? [It is the crappiest most pathetic horrible thieving lying hosting service ever known to man: servage (stuck with a 1 year contract and i've moved most of the 'important' stuff away)].
Unlike Hostgator, which will show modified/updated dates on both files and their respective enclosing/directory folders almost as soon as I do a refresh.
Am i correct that there is nothing I can do and it is all about the pathetic crapfest known as servage.net? Or is there something about interface between OS X / FTP Client and Linux webservers/hosting that is known to be problematic?
Is this solvable other than dropping servage, which I will do completely when the contract ends for additional reasons (i.e. they are liars, they get hacked repeatedly and are simply the most BS-filled liars and thieves I have ever encountered as far as hosting goes).
