The Solution Rating System

E-Billing to Online Bill-Pay

I am looking at trying to get a contract to implement e-billing (PDF to customers via email), which is rather simple,  but I want to make sure to add functionality to ensure it is compatable with online bill-pay that banks provide.  The problem I have is my web searches have not turned up any documentation as to how a vendor's e-billing integrates with a bank's online bill-pay.  I love the way it works with my bank but of course everything happens behind the scenes.  I am assuming it is either emails with XML or text files attached, or some sort of scheduled calls from the bank to a webservice provided by the e-biller, but it is all shrouded in mystery.
